Craven & Stoutzker - Strategic, practical and sustainable fundraising
Andrew Craven & Melanie Stoutzker

Gained during his 20-year career, Andrew has extensive experience in both revenue and capital fundraising, and has developed a wide knowledge of the UK voluntary sector.  Since 2000, he has been an independent consultant working with a range of high calibre clients.

During his time as Development Director for the Natural History Museum, in London (1995-2000), and following his tenure as Head of Corporate and Trust funding at The British Red Cross (1990 – 1995), he has amassed experience of all aspects of fundraising and has had contact with a comprehensive range of supporters with very different motivations.  Andrew has developed skills in maximising the potential of existing fundraising programmes and establishing the foundations from which multi-million pound campaigns can be launched.  From planning right through to implementation, he has achieved considerable and consistent success throughout his career and to date can take credit for raising in excess of £25m.

Andrew’s track record, together with his breadth of experience, was recognised by Dr Henry Drucker, Chairman of Oxford Philanthropic, a leading management consultancy for the not-for-profit sector.  He recruited Andrew as a senior consultant, responsible for some of the consultancy’s largest clients, and following the death of Dr Drucker and the closure of Oxford Philanthropic, many of its clients continued to work with Andrew.

Since then Andrew has continued to develop a portfolio of clients including those in the heritage, scientific, medical, environmental, cultural and welfare sectors.

Andrew guided us through the initial and difficult stages of our capital campaign and worked closely with myself in recruiting and mentoring a new Development team.  I valued the advice that was given and which contributed significantly to the overall success of our campaign.
